Knock Sensor Removal

Engine. Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35
2Gr-Fe Engine Control System. Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

  4. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR

Knock Sensor -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the intake air surge tank assembly (RAV4_ACA30 RM000002YO400RX.html).



3. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD


    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35.2Gr-Fe Engine Control System.Sfi System.Knock Sensor Removal

  1. Remove the 6 bolts, 4 nuts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.



4. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR


    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. Disconnect the 2 sensor connectors.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 sensors.
