CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SW - SKID CONTROL ECU/BODY GROUND)

VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM - Downhill Assist Control Indicator Light does not Come ON

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001K1O00SX.html).
1.CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

  1. Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001W16007X.html)

2.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SWITCH)

  1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the downhill assist control switch.

    ABS/VSC/TRC:
    Tester Display
    		Measurement Item/Range
    		Normal Condition
    		Diagnostic Note
    Downhill Assist Control Switch
    		Downhill assist control switch / ON or OFF
    		ON: Downhill assist control switch is on
    OFF: Downhill assist control switch is off
    		-
    OK:
    ON (downhill assist control switch is on) appears on the screen.

Go to step 5

3.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL INDICATOR LIGHT)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Start the engine.

  1. Select the Active Test mode on the intelligent tester (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000ONK01EX.html).

    ABS/VSC/TRC:
    Tester Display
    		Test Part
    		Control Range
    		Diagnostic Note
    Downhill Assist Control Indicator Light
    		Downhill assist control indicator light
    		Indicator light ON / OFF
    		Observe the combination meter.
    OK:
    The downhill assist control indicator light turns ON and OFF.

  1. Remove the downhill assist control switch (RAV4_ACA30 RM000002101009X.html).

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Switch Condition
    		Specified Condition
    4 - 1
    		Switch is pushed
    		Below 1 Ω
    Switch is not pushed
    		10 kΩ or higher

6.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SW - SKID CONTROL ECU/BODY GROUND)

  1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.

  1. Disconnect the downhill assist control switch connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω
    A67-29 (HDCS) - Body ground
    		Always
    		10 kΩ or higher
