1. INSPECT THERMOSTAT


    Lexus Is250, Is220D. Gse20 Ale20

  1. Immerse the water inlet with thermostat in water and gradually heat the water.

  1. Check the temperature at which the thermostat opens.

    Standard temperature:
    86 to 90°C (187 to 194°F)
    HINT:
    If the thermostat does not open at the specified temperature, replace the thermostat.

  1. Check the valve lift.

    Valve lift:
    10.0 mm (0.394 in.) or more at 100°C (212°F)
    If the valve lift is not as specified, replace the thermostat.

  1. Check that the valve is fully closed when the thermostat is at low temperatures (below 83°C (181 °F)).

    HINT:
    If it does not close fully, replace the thermostat.
