  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  5. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

  6. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH

  7. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH

  8. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  9. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

  10. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH

  11. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH

  12. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH

  13. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH

  14. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB ASSEMBLY

  15. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

  16. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  17. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

  18. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH ACTUATOR BRACKET

  19. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU BRACKET

  20. REMOVE RESERVOIR TUBE NO.1 HOSE

  21. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH

  22. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL UPPER PANEL

  23. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH (for LHD)

  24. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH (for RHD)

  25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for LHD)

  26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (for RHD)

  27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH (for LHD)

  28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH (for RHD)

  29. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH (for LHD)

  33. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  34. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING

  35. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS

  36. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY WITH SIMULATOR

  37. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET

Brake Master Cylinder (W/ Ecb) -- Removal



1. PRECAUTION

2. PERFORM ACCUMULATOR ZERO DOWN
CAUTION:
Be sure to perform this procedure before removing of the actuator.
NOTICE:
Perform accumulator zero down by following the prompts displayed on the intelligent tester.

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3 with the engine switch off.

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on and repeat the following steps 5 times.

    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. Turn the intelligent tester on and select "DIAGNOSTIC MENU" → "ABS/VSC" → "ECB UTILITY" → "ZERO DOWN" on the intelligent tester.

    3. When the buzzer sounds, turn the engine switch off.

      NOTICE:
      Keep the fluid inside the reservoir above the LOW level by replenishing.
      HINT:
      1. Accumulator pressure is released and accumulated repeatedly, which circulates the fluid inside the accumulator every time accumulator zero down (accumulator depressurizing) is performed.
      2. The pump motor rotates and accumulator is pressurized every time the engine switch is turned from off to on (IG).


3. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL

  1. Move the shift lever to the P position and apply the parking brake.

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3 with the engine switch off.



  1. Remove the 2 ABS motor relays with the engine switch off from the engine room relay block No.3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    NOTICE:
    Do not start the engine.

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on and select "DIAGNOSTIC MENU"→"ABS/VSC"→"ECB UTILITY"→"ECB INVALID".



4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


5. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

  1. Remove the 7 clips and duct seal.



6. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH

  1. Remove the 3 clips and side cover.



7. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH

  1. Remove the nut, 2 clips and side cover.



8. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 3 clips and remove the side seal.



9. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.


10. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the nut, wiper arm and blade.



11. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH

  1. Remove the nut, wiper arm and blade.



12. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH

  1. Pull the cowl side seal in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 2 claws and remove the cowl side seal.



13. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.


14. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 clips and detach the 5 claws.

  1. Pull the ventilator louver in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 10 claws and remove the ventilator louver.



15. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID


16. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL


17. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and skid control ECU assembly.

  1. Pull the 2 lock levers upward to release the lock and disconnect the 3 connectors.



18. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH ACTUATOR BRACKET

  1. Using SST, disconnect the brake tubes from the actuator assembly with bracket.

  1. Remove the clip and reservoir tube No.1 hose.



  1. Use tags or make a memo to identify the places to reconnect.

  1. Using SST, disconnect the brake No.1 and No.2 tubes.

    NOTICE:
    Do not damage the brake No.1 and No.2 tubes.

  1. Release the lock lever and disconnect the actuator connector.



  1. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and brake actuator assembly with bracket.

    NOTICE:
    Do not damage the brake tubes.

19. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU BRACKET

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and the skid control ECU bracket.



20. REMOVE RESERVOIR TUBE NO.1 HOSE

  1. Remove the clip and reservoir tube No.1 hose.



21. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the claws and remove the garnish.

    HINT:
    Tape the clip remover tip before use.


22. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL UPPER PANEL

  1. Twist the shift lever knob in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 9 clips.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Remove the ash receptacle and then disconnect the connector.



23. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH (for LHD)

  1. Remove the screw.

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips and 3 claws.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Remove the finish panel end.



24. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH (for RHD)

  1. Remove the screw.

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 clips and 3 claws.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Remove the finish panel end.



25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for LHD)

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 5 claws and remove the scuff plate.



26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (for RHD)
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.


27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH (for LHD)

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 claws and remove the trim cover.



28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH (for RHD)
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.


29. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH (for LHD)

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and 4 clips, and remove the side panel.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and 4 clips, and remove the side panel.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


31. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER NO.1 SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Detach the 2 claws.

  1. Remove the under cover and then disconnect the connector.



32. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD NO.1 SUB- ASSEMBLY

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 8 clips and claw.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Remove the hood lock control cable from the safety pad.

  1. Remove the safety pad.



33. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and driver side knee airbag assembly.

  1. Disconnect the connector.

    NOTICE:
    When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.


34. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING

  1. Remove the brake pedal return spring.



35. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS

  1. Remove the clip and the push rod pin, then separate the push rod clevis.



36. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY WITH SIMULATOR

  1. Disconnect the connectors and clamp.

  1. Remove the 4 nuts and brake master cylinder with simulator.



37. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET

  1. Remove the gasket from the brake master cylinder assembly with simulator.
