Heater Glow Plug (For 3Gr-Fse) Removal

Heater & Air Conditioning System. Lexus Gs430, Gs300. Uzs190 Grs190

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE UNION TO CHECK VALVE HOSE (for RHD)

  4. REMOVE ENGINE REAR COVER

  5. DISCONNECT HEATER BLOWER WIRE

  6. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS GLOW PLUG

Heater Glow Plug (For 3Gr-Fse) -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.



3. REMOVE UNION TO CHECK VALVE HOSE (for RHD)

  1. Disconnect the hose from the surge tank.



4. REMOVE ENGINE REAR COVER

  1. Remove the 3 clips and engine rear cover.



5. DISCONNECT HEATER BLOWER WIRE

  1. Remove the 2 grommets.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts while using your hands to make sure the terminal directions (angles) of the 2 wires do not change.

  1. Remove the 2 plate washers and disconnect the 2 wires.

    HINT:
    Before removing the 2 plate washers and disconnecting the 2 wires, check the terminal directions (angles) of the 2 wires so that they can be reinstalled in the same direction.
  1. Remove the 2 wave washers.



6. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS GLOW PLUG


    Lexus Gs430, Gs300. Uzs190 Grs190
  1. Remove the glow plug.

    HINT:
    Collect the engine coolant in a container.
