Side Airbag Sensor Installation

Check that the engine switch is off.

Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.

CAUTION:

After disconnecting the negative battery terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.

Install the side airbag sensor with the 2 bolts.

Torque:

18 N*m{184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf}

NOTICE:

1. If the side airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
   
2. When installing the side airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
   

Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the side airbag sensor.

Connect the connetor.

Engage the 3 claws (A) and install the wiring harness protector to the body.

Connect the connector.

Engage the 2claws (B) and close the protector cover.

Install the hole plug.

Engage the claw and install the front seat belt retractor cover to the body.

Install the front seat outer belt assembly with the 2 bolts. Be sure to tighten bolt A before tightening bolt B.

Torque:

Bolt A:

7.5 N*m{77 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf}

Bolt B:

42 N*m{428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf}

Connect the pretensioner connector labeled A, as show in the illustration.

Connect the tension reducer connector labeled B.

Connect the pre-collision safety connector labeled C.

Attach the 2 claws and 5 clips to install the garnish.

Pull out the folded lip of the weatherstrip.

Attach the 5 claws to install the scuff plate.

Pull out the folded lip of the weatherstrip.

Attach the 5 claws to install the scuff plate.

Pull out the folded lip of the weatherstrip.
