DTC P00BB Fuel Injector Insufficient Flow - Forced Limited Power


DESCRIPTION

In order to detect blockages in the positive pressure filter, the ECM determines if the fuel pressure of the common rail has deviated from the target value every 5000 km. If the average value of the judgment values recorded every 5000 km exceeds the threshold, a blockage is determined to be occurring in the positive pressure filter and a DTC is stored.
Also, at the same time, a message is displayed on the go to service warning light and engine output is limited. The message on the go to service warning light disappears after clearing the DTC.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK DTC OUTPUT

  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

  1. Read the DTCs.

    Standard:
    P00BB is output.
    HINT:
    When P00BB is output, the fuel filter cap with element needs to be replaced. In order to inspect the fuel filter element assembly for blockages, do not perform replacement at this stage.

2.INSPECT FUEL FILTER ELEMENT ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the clogging switch connector from the fuel filter element assembly.

  1. Start the engine and warm it up.

  1. Connect a circuit tester to the clogging switch.

  1. Check that the clogging switch does not turn OFF (10 kΩ or higher) when revving the engine up from idling.

    HINT:
    If the clogging switch turns OFF, it can be determined that the fuel filter element assembly is becoming clogged.
    Standard:
    The clogging switch does not change from ON (below 1Ω) when revving the engine up from idling.

3.REPLACE FUEL FILTER ELEMENT ASSEMBLY

  1. Replace the fuel filter element assembly (LandCruiser RM0000045HW008X.html).

4.REPLACE FUEL FILTER CAP WITH ELEMENT

  1. Replace the fuel filter cap with element (LandCruiser RM000005UDC000X.html).

5.BLEED AIR FROM FUEL SYSTEM

  1. Bleed the air from the fuel system (LandCruiser RM000002SY803FX_01_0002.html).

6.CLEAR DTC

  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes / Clear.

  1. Clear the DTCs.

    HINT:
    Clearing the DTCs turns off the message in the multi-information display.
