  1. Move the shift lever to N.

  1. Disconnect the transmission control cable end from the shift lever.

  1. Rotate the socket counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable from the shift lever retainer.

    NOTICE:
    Do not over-rotate the nut as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable will not be reusable.

  1. Remove the nut and clip, and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the automatic transmission.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the ground cable and transmission control cable support.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and detach the 3 claws, and then pull out the transmission control cable.
