- Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
1. CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH (VEHICLE NOT INVOLVED IN COLLISION) |
Perform a diagnostic system check (LandCruiser RM000000XFE0NGX.html).
2. CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH (VEHICLE INVOLVED IN COLLISION AND AIRBAG HAS NOT DEPLOYED) |
Perform a diagnostic system check (LandCruiser RM000000XFE0NGX.html).
When the quarter panel of the vehicle or the surrounding area is damaged, check if there is any damage to the rear airbag sensor. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the rear airbag sensor with a new one:
- Cracks, dents or chips on the sensor housing.
- Cracks or other damage to the connector.
- Peeling of the label or damage to the serial number.
- CAUTION:
- For removal and installation of the rear airbag sensor, be sure to follow the correct procedure.

3. CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH (VEHICLE INVOLVED IN COLLISION AND AIRBAG HAS DEPLOYED) |
When airbags have deployed as the result of a collision, be certain to replace all rear airbag sensors in the damaged area (anywhere in need of repair). Furthermore, it is also necessary to replace any rear airbag sensor in an undamaged areas that have registered a major collision, or which exhibit any of the following abnormalities:
- Cracks, dents or chips on the sensor housing.
- Cracks or other damage to the connector.
- Peeling of the label or damage to the serial number.

- For removal and installation of the rear airbag sensor, be sure to follow the correct procedure.
