Front Seat Side Airbag Assembly On-Vehicle Inspection


  1. CHECK FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE NOT INVOLVED IN COLLISION)

  2. CHECK FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE INVOLVED IN COLLISION AND AIRBAG HAS NOT DEPLOYED)

Front Seat Side Airbag Assembly -- On-Vehicle Inspection



1. CHECK FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE NOT INVOLVED IN COLLISION)

  1. Perform a diagnostic system check (LandCruiser RM000000XFE0NGX.html).

  1. With the front seat side airbag installed on the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the separate type front seat back cover or separate type front seat back pad with a new one:
    Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the front seatback around the front seat side airbag.



2. CHECK FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE INVOLVED IN COLLISION AND AIRBAG HAS NOT DEPLOYED)

  1. Perform a diagnostic system check (LandCruiser RM000000XFE0NGX.html).

  1. With the front seat side airbag removed from the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the front seat side airbag assembly with a new one:

    1. Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the front seat side airbag.
    2. Cracks or other damage to the wire harness or connector.
      NOTICE:
      For removal and installation of the front seat side airbag, be sure to follow the correct procedure.
