  1. CHECK CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH (VEHICLE NOT INVOLVED IN COLLISION)

  2. CHECK CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH (VEHICLE INVOLVED IN COLLISION AND AIRBAG HAS NOT DEPLOYED)

Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly -- On-Vehicle Inspection


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
  2. The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


1. CHECK CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH (VEHICLE NOT INVOLVED IN COLLISION)

  1. Perform a diagnostic system check (LandCruiser RM000000XFE0NGX.html).

  1. With the curtain shield airbag installed on the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the curtain shield airbag with a new one:
    Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the curtain shield airbag.



2. CHECK CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH (VEHICLE INVOLVED IN COLLISION AND AIRBAG HAS NOT DEPLOYED)

  1. Perform a diagnostic system check (LandCruiser RM000000XFE0NGX.html).

  1. With the curtain shield airbag removed from the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the curtain shield airbag with a new one:

    1. Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the curtain shield airbag.
    2. Cracks or other damage to the connector.
    CAUTION:
    For removal and installation of the curtain shield airbag, be sure to follow the correct procedure.
