Front Door Lock Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH LH

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL LH

  4. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP COVER LH

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN LH

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER WITH LOCK CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH

  13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY LH

  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY LH

Front Door Lock -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
  2. The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
  1. After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (LandCruiser RM000003YMD00TX.html).
  2. When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (LandCruiser RM000003YMF011X.html).


2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH LH

  1. Detach the 2 clips and remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish LH.



3. REMOVE NO. 2 DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL LH

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 claws and remove the inside handle bezel as shown in the illustration.



4. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP COVER LH

  1. Using moulding remover A, detach the 8 claws and remove the assist grip cover.



5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the 3 screws.

  1. Remove the 12 clips.

  1. Pull out the front door trim board sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

  1. Raise the front door trim board sub-assembly to detach the 4 claws and remove the front door trim board sub-assembly together with the front door inner glass weatherstrip LH.

  1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.



  1. w/ Seat Position Memory System:

    1. Disconnect the connectors.

  1. Disconnect the front door lock remote control cable assembly and front door inside locking cable assembly.



6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the front door inner glass weatherstrip from the front door trim board sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.



7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

  1. Remove the bolt.

  1. Detach the 2 clamps, move the wire harness out of the way and remove the service hole cover.

    HINT:
    Remove any remaining butyl tape from the door.


8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

  1. Connect the power window regulator master switch assembly and move the front door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolts can be seen.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and power window regulator master switch assembly.

    NOTICE:
    1. After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (LandCruiser RM000003YMD00TX.html).
    2. When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (LandCruiser RM000003YMF011X.html).

  1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    NOTICE:
    After the bolts are removed, do not allow the door glass to fall.

  1. Remove the front door glass sub-assembly as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

    NOTICE:
    Do not damage the door glass.


9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN LH

  1. Remove the front door glass run.



10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the bolt and front door rear lower frame sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.



11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER WITH LOCK CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the hole plug.

  1. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover with lock cylinder assembly.

    HINT:
    The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.


12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the 3 screws.

  1. Slide the front door lock assembly downward, pull out the front door lock open rod from the outside handle frame, and remove the front door lock assembly and cables as a unit.

  1. Remove the front door lock open rod from the front door lock assembly.

  1. Remove the door lock wiring harness seal from the front door lock assembly.



13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the front door lock remote control cable assembly.



14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Remove the front door inside locking cable assembly.
