3.PRECAUTION FOR INTRUSION SENSOR |
The theft deterrent system uses ultrasonic waves in order to detect intrusion into the vehicle. The ultrasonic waves do not penetrate iron or glass, but if a window or the sliding roof* is open, ultrasonic waves may leak out of the vehicle. As a result, when a window or the sliding roof* is open, people passing near the vehicle, bugs or leaves that enter the vehicle, strong winds, or outside sources of ultrasonic waves may be detected by the intrusion sensor. When inspecting the intrusion sensor, be sure to fully close all windows and the sliding roof.
When leaving a window or the sliding roof open for ventilation purposes while the car is parked, be sure to disable the intrusion sensor with the intrusion sensor OFF switch.
