Front Wiper Motor Removal
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL
REMOVE FRONT FENDER SIDE PANEL PROTECTOR LH
REMOVE FRONT FENDER SIDE PANEL PROTECTOR RH
REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH
REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH
REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM COVER
REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH
REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH
REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL
REMOVE CENTER NO. 2 COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER
REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK
REMOVE FRONT WIPER CRANK SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD, w/ Spring)
REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
REMOVE WIPER MOTOR WIRE
Front Wiper Motor -- Removal |
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- NOTICE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (LandCruiser RM000003YMD00TX.html).
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (LandCruiser RM000003YMF011X.html).
2. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL |
Remove the 13 clips and upper radiator support seal.
3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SIDE PANEL PROTECTOR LH |
Detach the 3 clips and guide, and remove the front fender side panel protector.
4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SIDE PANEL PROTECTOR RH |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH |
Detach the 5 claws and remove the front fender to cowl side seal LH.
6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
7. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM COVER |
Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the wiper arm cover.

- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
8. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH |
Remove the nut and front wiper arm and blade assembly LH.
9. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH |
Remove the nut and front wiper arm and blade assembly RH.
10. REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL |
Detach the 7 claws and 2 clips and remove the hood to cowl top seal.
11. REMOVE CENTER NO. 2 COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER |
Detach the 2 claws and 3 guides and remove the center No. 2 cowl top ventilator louver.
12. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 2 clips.
Detach the 6 claws and guide (A).

Disengage the 10 guides (B) and pull out the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.
13. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK |
Detach the clamp and disconnect the connector.
Remove the 2 bolts.
Detach the grommet and remove the windshield wiper motor and link as shown in the illustration.

- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the windshield when removing the windshield wiper motor and link assembly.
14. REMOVE FRONT WIPER CRANK SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD, w/ Spring) |
Using a screwdriver, separate the windshield wiper link rod from the crank arm pivot of the front wiper crank sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Remove the nut and front wiper crank sub-assembly.
15. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY |
w/o Spring:
Using a screwdriver, separate the windshield wiper link rod from the crank arm pivot of the front wiper crank as shown in the illustration.

- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Disconnect the connector.
Using a T30 ''TORX'' socket, remove the 2 bolts and windshield wiper motor.
16. REMOVE WIPER MOTOR WIRE |
Detach the claw and remove the wiper motor wire.
