Glow Plug -- On-Vehicle Inspection



1. INSPECT GLOW PLUG
NOTICE:
Turn the ignition switch off for 60 seconds before performing this inspection.


    Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser Prado. Grj150 Trj150,155 Kdj150,155 Lj150, Gdj150,155

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    Glow plug terminal - Body ground
    		20°C (68°F)
    		Approximately
    1.0 Ω
    NOTICE:
    1. Do not damage the glow plug pipes as doing so could cause an open circuit or shorten the life of the glow plugs.
    2. Prevent oil and gasoline from contacting the glow plugs when cleaning them.
    3. During the inspection, be sure to wipe off any oil on the terminal and Bakelite washer with a dry cloth.
    4. Do not apply more than 11 V to the glow plug as it could cause an open circuit.
