DESCRIPTION

Refer to DTC P0545 (LandCruiser RM00000188D0AOX_01.html).

P2080
DTC Detection Drive Pattern
DTC Detection Condition
Trouble Area
Check the exhaust gas temperature after leaving the vehicle for 1 to 2 hours and after driving*
*: Drive the vehicle for 5 minutes or more at a speed of 50 km/h (31.1 mph) or more.
The change in the exhaust temperature sensors from before the engine is started (after leaving the vehicle alone for 10 hours) and after driving for a fixed amount of time (approximately 15 minutes) is small.
(2 trip detection logic)
  1. Exhaust gas temperature sensor
  2. ECM (soak timer)

P2084
DTC Detection Drive Pattern
DTC Detection Condition
Trouble Area
Check the No. 2 exhaust gas temperature after leaving the vehicle for 1 to 2 hours and after driving*
*: Drive the vehicle for 5 minutes or more at a speed of 50 km/h (31.1 mph) or more.
The change in the No. 2 exhaust temperature sensors from before the engine is started (after leaving the vehicle alone for 10 hours) and after driving for a fixed amount of time (approximately 15 minutes) is small.
(2 trip detection logic)
  1. No. 2 Exhaust gas temperature sensor
  2. ECM (soak timer)

P242B
DTC Detection Drive Pattern
DTC Detection Condition
Trouble Area
Check the No. 3 exhaust gas temperature after leaving the vehicle for 1 to 2 hours and after driving*
*: Drive the vehicle for 5 minutes or more at a speed of 50 km/h (31.1 mph) or more.
The change in the No. 3 exhaust temperature sensors from before the engine is started (after leaving the vehicle alone for 10 hours) and after driving for a fixed amount of time (approximately 15 minutes) is small.
(2 trip detection logic)
  1. No. 3 Exhaust gas temperature sensor
  2. ECM (soak timer)

WIRING DIAGRAM

Refer to DTC P0545 (LandCruiser RM00000188D0AOX_03.html).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
After replacing the ECM, the new ECM needs registration (LandCruiser RM0000012XK0AVX.html) and initialization (LandCruiser RM000000TIN08IX.html).
HINT:
Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
1.CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P2080, P2084 OR P242B)
  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

  1. Read DTCs.

2.READ VALUE USING GTS (EXHAUST TEMPERATURE)
  1. Leave the vehicle as is for 1 to 2 hours with the engine stopped.

  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Exhaust Temperature B1S1, Exhaust Temperature B1S2 and Exhaust Temperature B1S3.

  1. Record the exhaust temperature displayed on the GTS.

3.INSPECT EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR
  1. Drive the vehicle for 5 minutes or more at a speed of 50 km/h (31.1 mph) or more.

  1. Stop the vehicle.

  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Exhaust Temperature B1S1, Exhaust Temperature B1S2 and Exhaust Temperature B1S3.

  1. Read the value.

    Result:

    Result
    Proceed to
Difference between Exhaust Temperature B1S1 recorded in "READ VALUE USING GTS (EXHAUST TEMPERATURE)" and Exhaust Temperature B1S1 checked after driving is within +/-15°C (27°F)
