DESCRIPTION
Refer to DTC P0545 (LandCruiser RM00000188D0AIX_01.html).DTC Detection Drive Pattern | DTC Detection Condition | Trouble Area |
Check the exhaust gas temperature after leaving the vehicle for 1 to 2 hours and after driving* *: Drive the vehicle for 5 minutes or more at a speed of 50 km/h (31.1 mph) or more. | The change in the exhaust temperature sensors from before the engine is started (after leaving the vehicle alone for 10 hours) and after driving for a fixed amount of time (approximately 15 minutes) is small. (2 trip detection logic) |
|
DTC Detection Drive Pattern | DTC Detection Condition | Trouble Area |
Check the No. 2 exhaust gas temperature after leaving the vehicle for 1 to 2 hours and after driving* *: Drive the vehicle for 5 minutes or more at a speed of 50 km/h (31.1 mph) or more. | The change in the No. 2 exhaust temperature sensors from before the engine is started (after leaving the vehicle alone for 10 hours) and after driving for a fixed amount of time (approximately 15 minutes) is small. - HINT:
- Sensor 1 represents the sensor located upstream of the DOC catalytic converter.
- Sensor 2 represents the sensor located upstream of the DPF catalytic converter.
- Sensor 3 represents the sensor located downstream of the DPF catalytic converter.
- If DTC P2080, P2084 or P242B is stored, the following symptoms may appear:
- White smoke
WIRING DIAGRAM
Refer to DTC P0545 (LandCruiser RM00000188D0AIX_03.html).INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- NOTICE:
- After replacing the ECM, the new ECM needs registration (LandCruiser RM0000012XK0AUX.html) and initialization (LandCruiser RM000000TIN08HX.html).
- HINT:
- Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
1.CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P2080, P2084 OR P242B) |
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
Read DTCs.
Result Result Proceed to DTC P2080, P2084 or P242B is output A DTC P2080, P2084 or P242B and other DTCs are output B

2.READ VALUE USING GTS (EXHAUST TEMPERATURE) |
Leave the vehicle as is for 1 to 2 hours with the engine stopped.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Exhaust Temperature B1S1, Exhaust Temperature B1S2 and Exhaust Temperature B1S3.
Record the exhaust temperature displayed on the GTS.

3.INSPECT EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR |
Drive the vehicle for 5 minutes or more at a speed of 50 km/h (31.1 mph) or more.
Stop the vehicle.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Exhaust Temperature B1S1, Exhaust Temperature B1S2 and Exhaust Temperature B1S3.
Read the value.
- Result:
Result Proceed to Difference between Exhaust Temperature B1S1 recorded in "READ VALUE USING GTS (EXHAUST TEMPERATURE)" and Exhaust Temperature B1S1 checked after driving is within +/-15°C (27°F) A Difference between Exhaust Temperature B1S2 recorded in "READ VALUE USING GTS (EXHAUST TEMPERATURE)" and Exhaust Temperature B1S2 checked after driving is within +/-15°C (27°F) Difference between Exhaust Temperature B1S3 recorded in "READ VALUE USING GTS (EXHAUST TEMPERATURE)" and Exhaust Temperature B1S3 checked after driving is within +/-15°C (27°F) Difference between exhaust temperature recorded in "READ VALUE USING GTS (EXHAUST TEMPERATURE)" and exhaust temperature checked after driving is equal to or greater than +/- 15°C (27°F) B

4.REPLACE EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR |
- HINT:
- Replace the exhaust temperature sensor that changed a small amount in "INSPECT EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR".
Replace the exhaust gas temperature sensor (LandCruiser RM000005UK3000X.html).
Replace the No. 2 exhaust gas temperature sensor (LandCruiser RM000005UK3000X.html).
Replace the No. 3 exhaust gas temperature sensor (LandCruiser RM000005UK3000X.html).

6.CONFIRM WHETHER MALFUNCTION HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY REPAIRED |
Leave the vehicle as is for 1 to 2 hours with the engine stopped.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Exhaust Temperature B1S1, Exhaust Temperature B1S2 and Exhaust Temperature B1S3.
