Condenser Removal


  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

  3. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  4. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE ASSEMBLY

  6. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER CONDENSER BRACKET

  7. DISCONNECT NO. 2 COOLER CONDENSER BRACKET

  8. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY

  9. REMOVE COOLER DRYER

Condenser -- Removal



1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  1. for 1GR-FE:
    Drain the engine coolant (LandCruiser RM0000017DS04RX.html).

  1. for 2TR-FE:
    Drain the engine coolant (LandCruiser RM0000017H5010X.html).

  1. for 1KD-FTV:
    Drain the engine coolant (LandCruiser RM000002SLF01FX.html).

  1. for 5L-E:
    Drain the engine coolant (LandCruiser RM000003WIU00GX.html).

  1. for 1GD-FTV:
    Drain the engine coolant (LandCruiser RM00000419K013X_01_0005.html).



2. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

  1. for 1GR-FE:
    Remove the radiator assembly (LandCruiser RM000002BGI049X.html).

  1. for 2TR-FE:
    Remove the radiator assembly (LandCruiser RM000002BGI048X.html).

  1. for 1KD-FTV:
    Remove the radiator assembly (LandCruiser RM000002SKP00QX.html).

  1. for 5L-E:
    Remove the radiator assembly (LandCruiser RM00000144G029X.html).

  1. for 1GD-FTV:
    Remove the radiator assembly (LandCruiser RM000002SKP00SX.html).



3. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  1. Start the engine.

  1. Operate the cooler compressor under the conditions shown below:

    Item
    		Condition
    Engine Speed
    		Idling
    Operating Time
    		3 minutes or more
    A/C Switch Status
    		On
    Blower Switch Status
    		HI
    Set Temperature
    		MAX COOL
    This causes most of the compressor oil from the various components of the A/C system to collect in the A/C compressor.
    NOTICE:
    It is not necessary to operate the cooler compressor if the A/C does not operate because of compressor lock, etc.

  1. Stop the engine.

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system using a refrigerant recovery unit.

    HINT:
    Use the refrigerant recovery unit in accordance with the manufacturer's instruction manual.


4. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly from the cooler condenser assembly.

    NOTICE:
    1. When removing the bolt, do not allow any tools to contact the pipe.
    2. When removing the bolt, hold a part of the pipe near the connector.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the discharge hose sub-assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.


5. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE ASSEMBLY


    Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser Prado. Grj150 Trj150,155 Kdj150,155 Lj150, Gdj150,155

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the air conditioning tube assembly from the cooler condenser assembly.

    NOTICE:
    1. When removing the bolt, do not allow any tools to contact the pipe.
    2. When removing the bolt, hold a part of the pipe near the connector.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the air conditioning tube assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.


6. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER CONDENSER BRACKET

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 1 cooler condenser bracket.



7. DISCONNECT NO. 2 COOLER CONDENSER BRACKET

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the No. 2 cooler condenser bracket.



8. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and cooler condenser assembly as shown in the illustration.



9. REMOVE COOLER DRYER

  1. Using a 14 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the cap from the modulator.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the cap.

  1. Using pliers, remove the cooler dryer.
