Front Crankshaft Oil Seal Removal


  1. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE VISCOUS HEATER CRANKSHAFT PULLEY (w/ Viscous Heater)

  3. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY COVER

  4. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

  5. REMOVE FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL

Front Crankshaft Oil Seal -- Removal

2. REMOVE VISCOUS HEATER CRANKSHAFT PULLEY (w/ Viscous Heater)

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and crankshaft pulley cover from the crankshaft pulley.



3. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY COVER

  1. w/ Viscous Heater:
    Remove the crankshaft pulley cover from the crankshaft pulley.

  1. w/o Viscous Heater:
    Remove the 4 bolts and crankshaft pulley cover from the crankshaft pulley.



4. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

  1. Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley and loosen the pulley bolt.

    HINT:
    Make sure to leave the pulley bolt screwed into the crankshaft by 2 or 3 threads.

  1. Using SST, remove the pulley bolt and crankshaft pulley from the crankshaft.

5. REMOVE FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL

  1. Using SST, remove the front crankshaft oil seal from the timing chain cover assembly.

    HINT:
    After removal, check the crankshaft for damage. If damaged, smooth the surface with #400 sandpaper.
