Rear Door -- Disassembly |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
- The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.
- Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- NOTICE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (LandCruiser RM000003YMD00TX.html).
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (LandCruiser RM000003YMF011X.html).
2. REMOVE NO. 2 DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL LH |
Using moulding remover A, detach the 3 claws and remove the rear door inside handle bezel as shown in the illustration.

3. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP COVER LH |
Using moulding remover A, detach the 8 claws and remove the assist grip cover.

4. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH |
Remove the 3 screws.

Using a clip remover, detach the 9 clips.
Pull out the rear door trim board sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

Raise the rear door trim board sub-assembly to detach the 4 claws and remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly together with the rear door inner glass weatherstrip.
Disconnect the rear door lock remote control cable assembly and rear door inside locking cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

Disconnect each connector.

Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the clamp.

5. REMOVE REAR DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH |
Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the rear door inner glass weatherstrip from the rear door trim board sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

6. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY |
Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly.

7. REMOVE REAR REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY |
Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear reflex reflector assembly.

8. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH |
Disconnect the connector.

Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the light.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
9. REMOVE NO. 2 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the connector.

Detach the clamp.
Turn the light in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.
10. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH |
Remove the 8 screws and rear door armrest.

Remove the 2 screws.

Detach the guide and 2 claws and remove the rear door inside handle sub-assembly from the rear door trim board sub-assembly.
11. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for 14 Speakers) |
Remove the 2 screws and No. 2 speaker.
- NOTICE:
- Do not touch the cone of the speaker.

12. REMOVE REAR SPEAKER SET |
Disconnect the connector.

Remove the 3 screws.
Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear speaker set.
- NOTICE:
- Do not touch the cone of the speaker.
13. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER |
Disconnect the connector.

Detach the 3 clamps, move the wire harness out of the way and remove the service hole cover.
- HINT:
- Remove any remaining butyl tape from the door.
14. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN LH |
Remove the rear door glass run.

15. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH |
Detach the clip and remove the rear door frame garnish.

16. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH |
Loosen the temporary bolt.

Remove the 2 bolts and screw.
Remove the rear door window division bar sub-assembly.
Remove the temporary bolt from the rear door window division bar sub-assembly.
17. REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW GLASS LH |
Remove the rear door quarter window glass and rear door quarter window weatherstrip as a unit as shown in the illustration.

18. REMOVE REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW WEATHERSTRIP LH |
Remove the rear door quarter window weatherstrip from the rear door quarter window glass.

19. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH |
Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and rear power window regulator motor connector.
Connect the power window regulator switch assembly and move the rear door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolts can be seen.
Disconnect the power window regulator switch assembly and rear power window regulator motor connectors.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- NOTICE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (LandCruiser RM000003YMD00TX.html).
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (LandCruiser RM000003YMF011X.html).
Remove the rear door glass sub-assembly from the rear door window regulator sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
- NOTICE:
- After the bolts are removed, do not allow the door glass to fall.

Remove the rear door glass sub-assembly as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the door glass.

20. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS CHANNEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH |
Using a screwdriver, remove the rear door glass channel sub-assembly.

21. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS CHANNEL FILLER |
Remove the rear door glass channel filler.
22. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY LH |
Loosen the temporary bolt.

Remove the rear door window regulator assembly.
Remove the temporary bolt from the rear door window regulator assembly.
23. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH |

Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 screws and power window regulator motor.
24. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH |
Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the 3 screws.

Move the rear door lock assembly downward, pull the release plate out of the rear door outside handle frame, and remove the rear door lock assembly and cables as a unit.
Remove the door lock wiring harness seal from the rear door lock assembly.
25. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY LH |
Using a screwdriver, detach the claw.

Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws.

27. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH |
Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.
- HINT:
- The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

Detach the claw and remove the rear door outside handle cover.
28. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH |
Move the lever in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

Remove the rear door outside handle assembly as shown in the illustration.

29. REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 1 OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD LH |
Detach the 3 claws and remove the rear door No. 1 outside handle pad.

Detach the 2 claws and remove the rear door No. 2 outside handle pad.

31. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH |
Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.

Slide the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly to detach the door handle nut and claw of the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly, and then remove the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly.
32. REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 2 WEATHERSTRIP LH |
Using a clip remover, detach the 6 clips and guide and remove the rear door No. 2 weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

33. REMOVE REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH |
Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and rear door check assembly.

34. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH |
Using a clip remover, detach the 19 clips and guide and remove the rear door weatherstrip.

Detach the 7 claws and remove the rear door belt moulding.

Remove the door window frame moulding clip.

Put protective tape around the rear door front window frame moulding.

Using a moulding remover, detach the clip and remove the double-sided tape to remove the rear door front window frame moulding.

37. REMOVE NO. 2 BLACK OUT TAPE LH |

Pull back an edge of the No. 2 black out tape and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to remove it.
38. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOWER OUTSIDE STRIPE LH |

Pull back an edge of the rear door lower outside stripe and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to remove it.
39. REMOVE BLACK OUT TAPE LH |

Pull back an edge of the black out tape and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to remove it.
40. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE STRIPE LH |

Pull back an edge of the rear door outside stripe and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to remove it.
41. REMOVE REAR DOOR PANEL CUSHION |
Using a clip remover, detach the clip and remove the door panel cushion.
