DESCRIPTION
The entry and start system uses the combination meter buzzer to perform various vehicle interior warnings. When the conditions of each warning are met, the certification ECU sends a buzzer signal to the combination meter assembly, and the combination meter buzzer sounds.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- NOTICE:
- The entry and start system (for Entry Function) uses a multiplex communication system (LIN communication system) and the CAN communication system. Inspect the communication function by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting (LandCruiser RM000000XU70G9X.html). Troubleshoot the entry and start system (for Entry Function) after confirming that the communication systems are functioning properly.
- Before replacing the certification ECU, refer to the Service Bulletin.
1.CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (OPERATION) |
Turn the engine switch on (IG). Place a weight of 20 kg (44.0 lb) on the passenger seat to cause the passenger seat belt warning light to blink.
When driving the vehicle at 15 km/h (9.3 mph) or more, check that the seat belt warning buzzer sounds to inform that the passenger seat belt is not fastened.
- HINT:
- The entry and start system sounds the buzzer built into the combination meter for indoor warnings. This buzzer is also used for the seat belt warning system. Therefore, the operation of the combination meter buzzer can be checked by checking if the buzzer sounds to inform that the seat belt is not fastened.
