Steering Angle Sensor Removal


  1. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER

  5. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR

Steering Angle Sensor -- Removal



1. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD


2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
  1. After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (LandCruiser RM000003YMD00TX.html).
  2. When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (LandCruiser RM000003YMF011X.html).


3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

4. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
  1. for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column:
    (LandCruiser RM0000039SI030X.html)

  1. for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column:
    (LandCruiser RM0000039SI031X.html)



5. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
(LandCruiser RM000002O8X02DX_01_0009.html)
NOTICE:
  1. Do not replace the spiral cable with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.
  2. Do not rotate the spiral cable with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.
  3. Make sure that the steering wheel is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering angle sensor.
  4. Do not remove the steering angle sensor from the spiral cable.
