Starter (For 2.7 Kw Type) Reassembly


  1. INSTALL STARTER ARMATURE ASSEMBLY

  2. INSTALL STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY

  3. INSTALL STARTER CLUTCH SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. INSTALL MAGNET STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  5. INSTALL STARTER YOKE ASSEMBLY

Starter (For 2.7 Kw Type) -- Reassembly



1. INSTALL STARTER ARMATURE ASSEMBLY
  1. Install the starter armature assembly to the starter yoke assembly.



2. INSTALL STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY
  1. Install the starter brush holder assembly to the starter yoke assembly.

  1. Install the 4 brushes to the starter brush holder assembly.

    1. Using a screwdriver, pull back the brush spring.

    2. Install the brush to the starter brush holder assembly.

      NOTICE:
      Check that the positive (+) lead wires are not grounded.
  1. Install the commutator end frame with the 2 screws.

    Torque:
    3.6 N*m{37 kgf*cm, 32 in.*lbf}


3. INSTALL STARTER CLUTCH SUB-ASSEMBLY
  1. Apply high-temperature grease to the idle gear, steel ball, return spring, clutch roller and retainer.



    Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser Prado. Grj150 Trj150,155 Kdj150,155 Lj150, Gdj150,155
  1. Install the steel ball into the hole of starter clutch sub-assembly.

  1. Insert the return spring into the hole of starter clutch sub-assembly.

  1. Install the starter clutch sub-assembly, idle gear, retainer and clutch roller to the starter drive housing assembly.



4. INSTALL MAGNET STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
  1. Install the magnet starter switch assembly to the starter drive housing assembly with the 3 screws.

    Torque:
    9.3 N*m{95 kgf*cm, 82 in.*lbf}


5. INSTALL STARTER YOKE ASSEMBLY
  1. Install the felt washer to the starter armature assembly.

  1. Align the protrusion of the starter yoke assembly with the groove of the magnet starter switch assembly, and install the starter yoke assembly together with the starter armature assembly.

  1. Install 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    9.3 N*m{95 kgf*cm, 82 in.*lbf}
  1. Connect the lead wire to terminal C with the nut.

    Torque:
    24 N*m{245 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf}
