Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly Removal

  1. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE

  2. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly -- Removal



1. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Door Hatch.Hood.Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly Removal

  1. Put protective tape around the radiator grille.

  1. Remove the 2 clips and 2 screws.



    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Detach the 6 claws and remove the radiator grille.



2. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Remove the 3 bolts.



    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock.



3. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Detach the 3 claws.

  1. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock control lever.



4. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

  1. Tie a string to the end of the hood lock control cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

    HINT:
    Use a length of string long enough to pass through the engine compartment.

  1. Detach each clamp and the grommet, and then pull out the hood lock control cable from the vehicle body.



  1. Untie the string from the hood lock control cable.
