INSPECTION PROCEDURE

READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (TRC/VSC OFF MODE)

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)

INSPECT VSC OFF SWITCH

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - VSC OFF SWITCH)

CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (EXI3 TERMINAL)

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER)

VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM - Slip Indicator Light Remains ON


DESCRIPTION

The slip indicator light blinks during VSC and TRC operation.
Pressing the VSC OFF switch turns off traction control and pressing and holding this switch turns off traction control and VSC. If traction control or VSC turns off, the slip indicator light comes on.
When the transfer position is L4, VSC is prohibited and the VSC OFF indicator and slip indicator lights turn on.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
  1. As there may be malfunctions in the transfer system related to when the transfer operates in L4, check the transfer system first (HILUX_TGN26 RM00000112G00VX.html).
  2. After replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform calibration (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000XHR073X.html).
  3. Before disconnecting the connector, make sure that there are no problems with the connection.
  4. After disconnecting the connector, make sure that the connector case and terminals are not deformed or corroded.
1.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (TRC/VSC OFF MODE)
  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Data List.

    TRC/VSC Off Mode
    VSC OFF switch / Normal, Unknown, TRC OFF or VSC OFF
    Normal: Normal mode
    TRC OFF: TRC off mode
    VSC OFF: VSC off mode

  1. Check that the mode display changes according to VSC OFF switch operation.

    OK:
    The intelligent tester display changes according to VSC OFF switch operation.

2.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)
  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Active Test.

    Slip Indicator Light
    Slip indicator light
    Indicator light ON / OFF
    Observe the combination meter.
  1. When performing the Slip Indicator Light Active Test, check Slip Indicator Light in the Data List.

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Remove the VSC OFF switch (HILUX_TGN26 RM000001WZ2028X.html).

  1. Inspect the VSC OFF switch (HILUX_TGN26 RM000001WZ002FX.html).

4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - VSC OFF SWITCH)
  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Disconnect the VSC OFF switch connector.

  1. Disconnect the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
