CHECK PTC OPERATION |
- HINT:
- PTC operation is a function that prevents overloading of the power window regulator by stopping the power window motor. PTC operation activates when the power window regulator switch is operated for a predetermined amount of time.
Disconnect the power window regulator motor.
Connect the ammeter's positive (+) lead to terminal 2 of the wire harness side connector and the negative (-) lead to battery's negative terminal.
Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 1 of the wire harness side connector, and raise that window to the fully closed position.
Continue to apply voltage, and check that the current changes to less than 1A within 4 to 90 seconds.
Disconnect the leads from the terminals.
Approximately 60 seconds later, connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1, and check that the window begins to lower.
- NOTICE:
- If the result is not as specified, replace the power window regulator motor.
CHECK JAM PROTECTION FUNCTION (for Driver Side) |
Check the basic function.

- The jam protection function is operative during the auto up operation.
- Do not put your fingers between the door frame and door glass to check functions. Also, prevent any part of your body from being caught during inspection.

Fully open the window.
Hold a thick book wrapped with cloth in the position shown in the illustration.
Text in Illustration *1 Thick Book *2 Cloth Operate the auto up function to check that the power window goes down when the window contacts the book, and stops when the opening reaches approximately 200 mm (7.87 in.).
- HINT:
- The power window moves down approximately 50 mm (1.97 in.). However, when the opening does not reach 200 mm (7.87 in.), the power window continues to go down until the opening reaches 200 mm (7.87 in.) or until approximately 5 seconds have elapsed.
While the power window is moving down, check that the door glass cannot be moved up even when the power window regulator master switch assembly is used.
