NAVIGATION SYSTEM - Illumination Circuit


DESCRIPTION

Power is supplied to the navigation receiver assembly and steering pad switch assembly illumination when the light control switch is in the TAIL or HEAD position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
The vehicle is equipped with an SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) which includes components such as airbags. Before servicing (including removal or installation of parts), be sure to read the precautionary notice for the SRS (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000KT10ITX.html).
1.CHECK ILLUMINATION
  1. Check if the illumination for the navigation receiver assembly, steering pad switch assembly, glove box or other parts (hazard switch, transmission control switch, etc.) comes on when the light control switch is turned to the HEAD or TAIL position.

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BATTERY)

  1. Disconnect the G12 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Voltage:
    Tester Connection
    Switch Condition

    G12-12 (IL+2) - Body ground
    Light control switch TAIL or HEAD
    11 to 14 V

3.INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY


  1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly (HILUX_TGN26 RM0000033RT0AIX.html).

  1. Connect the positive (+) lead of the battery to terminal z3-5 (IL+2) and the negative (-) lead to terminal z3-8 (EAU) of the steering pad switch assembly connector.

  1. Check if the illumination for the steering pad switch assembly comes on.

    OK:
    Illumination for the steering pad switch assembly comes on.

4.INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly (HILUX_TGN26 RM0000010B201AX.html).

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection

    8 (EAU) - 4 (EAU)
    Spiral cable is turned 2.5 rotations counterclockwise
    Below 1 Ω
    Spiral cable is centered
    Spiral cable is turned 2.5 rotations clockwise

    Spiral cable is turned 2.5 rotations counterclockwise
    Spiral cable is centered

    CAUTION:

  1. Disconnect the G152 navigation receiver assembly connector.

  1. Disconnect the G12 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:

    G152-23 (SWG) - G12-4 (EAU)

    Below 1 Ω

    10 kΩ or higher
