  1. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB INNER BEARING LH

  2. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB OIL SEAL LH

  3. INSTALL STEERING KNUCKLE LH

  4. INSTALL ABS SPEED SENSOR ROTOR (w/ ABS)

  5. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL INNER BEARING SPACER LH (w/o ABS)

  6. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB NUT LH

  7. INSTALL KNUCKLE GREASE RETAINER CAP LH

  8. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB ASSEMBLY

  9. CONNECT FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH

  10. CONNECT FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH

  11. CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  12. INSTALL FRONT DISC

  13. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH

  14. CONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE

  15. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH (w/ ABS)

  16. BLEED BRAKE LINE

  17. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

  18. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL

Steering Knuckle (For 2Wd) -- Installation


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
  2. The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


1. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB INNER BEARING LH


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Axle And Differential.Axle System.Steering Knuckle (For 2Wd) Installation

  1. Using SST and a press, press a new bearing into the steering knuckle.

    SST

    09950-60020(09951-00910)

  1. Using snap ring pliers, install a new snap ring.



2. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB OIL SEAL LH

  1. Using SST and a plastic-faced hammer, tap in a new oil seal.

    SST
    09223-15030
    09527-17011

  1. Apply MP grease to the lip of the oil seal.



3. INSTALL STEERING KNUCKLE LH


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Axle And Differential.Axle System.Steering Knuckle (For 2Wd) Installation

  1. Install the dust cover to the steering knuckle with the 3 bolts.

    Torque:
    8.0 N*m{82 kgf*cm, 71 ft.*lbf}

  1. Using SST and a press, press the axle hub into the steering knuckle.

4. INSTALL ABS SPEED SENSOR ROTOR (w/ ABS)

  1. Install the ABS speed sensor rotor.



5. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL INNER BEARING SPACER LH (w/o ABS)

  1. Install the spacer.



6. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB NUT LH


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Axle And Differential.Axle System.Steering Knuckle (For 2Wd) Installation

  1. Install a new nut to the axle hub.

    Torque:
    199 N*m{2029 kgf*cm, 147 ft.*lbf}

  1. Using a chisel and hammer, stake the nut.

    NOTICE:
    Do not scratch the serration of the speed sensor rotor.


7. INSTALL KNUCKLE GREASE RETAINER CAP LH


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Axle And Differential.Axle System.Steering Knuckle (For 2Wd) Installation

  1. Using a brass bar and hammer, install the knuckle grease retainer cap.

    NOTICE:
    Do not damage the knuckle grease retainer cap.


8. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB ASSEMBLY

  1. Install the front axle hub assembly.



9. CONNECT FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH


Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Connect the upper arm with the nut.

    Torque:
    110 N*m{1122 kgf*cm, 81 ft.*lbf}

  1. Install a new clip.

    NOTICE:
    If the holes for the clip are not aligned, tighten the nut an additional 60°.


10. CONNECT FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH


Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Axle And Differential.Axle System.Steering Knuckle (For 2Wd) Installation

  1. Connect the suspension arm with the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    160 N*m{1632 kgf*cm, 118 ft.*lbf}


11. CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Connect the tie rod end with the nut.

    Torque:
    49 N*m{500 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf}

  1. Install a new cotter pin.

    NOTICE:
    If the holes for the cotter pin are not aligned, tighten the nut an additional 60°.


12. INSTALL FRONT DISC


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Axle And Differential.Axle System.Steering Knuckle (For 2Wd) Installation

  1. Align the matchmarks and install the disc.

    HINT:
    When replacing the disc with a new one, select the installation position where the disc has the smallest runout.


13. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.Axle And Differential.Axle System.Steering Knuckle (For 2Wd) Installation

  1. Install the brake cylinder with the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    117 N*m{1191 kgf*cm, 86 ft.*lbf}


14. CONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Install a new gasket and connect the flexible hose with a new union bolt.

    Torque:
    29 N*m{296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf}
    HINT:
    Insert the flexible hose lock securely into the lock hole in the cylinder.


15. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH (w/ ABS)


Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Install the speed sensor with the bolt.

    Torque:
    8.5 N*m{87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf}

  1. Connect the 3 clamps with the 3 bolts.

    Torque:
    32 N*m{326 kgf*cm, 24 ft.*lbf}


16. BLEED BRAKE LINE

17. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
Torque:
152 N*m{1550 kgf*cm, 112 ft.*lbf}


18. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
