Front Airbag Sensor -- Removal |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
| 1. PRECAUTION |
- NOTICE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR1006X.html).
| 2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR3009X.html).
| 3. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE |
Put protective tape around the radiator grille.

Remove the 2 clips and 2 screws.
Detach the 6 claws and remove the radiator grille.
 |
| 4. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the bolt, nut and battery clamp.
| 5. REMOVE BATTERY |
Disconnect the cable from positive (+) battery terminal.
Remove the battery.
| 6. REMOVE FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR LH |
Remove the nut and front airbag sensor LH.

Disconnect the connector.
