  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

  2. PRECAUTION

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  4. DISCONNECT CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY

  5. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. DISCONNECT FUEL MAIN TUBE

  7. REMOVE FUEL FILTER

  8. INSTALL FUEL FILTER

  9. CONNECT FUEL MAIN TUBE

  10. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  11. CONNECT CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY

  12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  13. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK

Fuel Filter -- Replacement



1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

2. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR1006X.html).


3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR3009X.html).


4. DISCONNECT CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the purge line hose from the canister.

  1. Disconnect the vent line hose from the canister.

  1. Disconnect the air inlet line hose from the canister.

  1. Remove the canister from the bracket.



5. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Detach the No. 1 fuel pipe from the fuel filter.

  1. Disconnect the No. 1 fuel pipe (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000YL401PX.html).



6. DISCONNECT FUEL MAIN TUBE


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25

  1. Remove the fuel main tube (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000YL401PX.html).



7. REMOVE FUEL FILTER


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25.1Gr-Fe Fuel.Fuel System.Fuel Filter Replacement

  1. Remove the 3 nuts and fuel filter.



8. INSTALL FUEL FILTER

  1. Install the fuel filter with the 3 nuts.

    Torque:
    8.5 N*m{87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf}


9. CONNECT FUEL MAIN TUBE

  1. Connect the fuel main tube (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000YL401PX.html).



10. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Connect the No. 1 fuel pipe (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000YL401PX.html).

  1. Attach the No. 1 fuel pipe to the fuel filter.



11. CONNECT CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY

  1. Install the canister to the bracket.

  1. Connect the air inlet line hose to the canister.

  1. Connect the vent line hose to the canister.

  1. Connect the purge line hose to the canister.



12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR3009X.html).


13. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK

  1. Make sure that there are no fuel leaks after performing maintenance on the fuel system.

    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.

      NOTICE:
      Do not start the engine.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump / Speed.

    4. Check that there are no leaks from the fuel system.
      If there are fuel leaks, repair or replace parts as necessary.

    5. Turn the ignition switch off.

    6. Disconnect the intelligent tester from the DLC3.
