  1. INITIALIZATION

  1. DISCONNECT AND RECONNECT CABLE OF NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Sfi System -- Precaution

1.INITIALIZATION
NOTICE:
  1. Perform initialization (throttle position) after replacing the throttle body with motor assembly or cleaning any throttle body components (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000VWL02YX_01_0009.html).
  2. Perform initialization (throttle position) after reconnecting the battery cable or replacing the ECM (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000VWL02YX_01_0009.html).
  3. Perform Reset Memory (AT initialization) when replacing the automatic transmission assembly, engine assembly or ECM (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000W7F0L1X.html).
  4. If the ECM is replaced, register the ECM communication ID for Immobiliser System (Refer to the Service Bulletin for Registration).
HINT:
Initialization cannot be completed only by disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal.

  2. Before disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cable, turn the ignition switch off and the headlight dimmer switch off. Then loosen the terminal nut completely. Do not damage the cable or terminal.

  3. When the battery cable is disconnected, the clock and radio settings and stored DTCs are cleared. Therefore, before disconnecting the battery cable, make a note of the settings.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
