ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM - Engine does not Start |
DESCRIPTION
If the engine does not start and no DTCs are output, there is an open or short circuit between the ECM, transponder key ECU assembly or telephone transceiver assembly (w/ Blocking System).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- NOTICE:
- Before troubleshooting this symptom, make sure no engine immobiliser system DTCs, SFI system (for 2TR-FE, 2TR-FBE, 1GR-FE) or ECD system (for 1KD-FTV, 2KD-FTV) DTCs are present. If present, troubleshoot the engine immobiliser system DTCs or blocking system DTCs (w/ Blocking System) first.
- For vehicles with blocking system, refer to "Engine does not Start" (HILUX_TGN26 RM0000044SP00XX.html).
- When replacing the transponder key ECU assembly or ECM, refer to the Service Bulletin.
1.CHECK TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY (OUTPUT) |

|
Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform.

- HINT:
- The waveform shown in the illustration is an example for reference only. Noise, chattering, etc. are not shown.
- Check the waveform when the security indicator light assembly is off (the engine immobiliser system is unset). If the security indicator light assembly does not turn off (the engine immobiliser system cannot be unset), refer to the "Problem Symptoms Table (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000Z3601IX.html)".
- OK:
- Waveform is output normally (refer to illustration).
