Front Speed Sensor Installation
Brake. Corolla. Zre142 Aze141
INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR (for TMC Made)
INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR (except TMC Made)
INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER
INSTALL SIDE MUDGUARD
INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CHECK FOR SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
Front Speed Sensor -- Installation |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.
- The following procedure is for the LH side.
- If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the front drive outboard joint shaft assembly (for TMC Made).
- If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the front drive shaft assembly (except TMC Made).
| 1. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR (for TMC Made) |
Install the front speed sensor with the bolt.
- Torque:
- 8.5 N*m{87 kgf*cm, 76 in.*lbf}
- NOTICE:
- Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
- Do not file the sensor installation hole or surface because the gap between the magnet rotor and front speed sensor is important.
Temporarily install the No. 1 sensor clamp to the shock absorber.
Install the brake flexible hose with the bolt.
- Torque:
- 29 N*m{296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf}
- NOTICE:
- Do not twist the front speed sensor wire harness during installation.
- Tighten the brake flexible hose and front speed sensor together with the bolt. Make sure that the front speed sensor is positioned over the flexible hose.
Install the No. 2 sensor clamp to the body with the bolt.
- Torque:
- 8.0 N*m{82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf}
Install the front speed sensor wire harness clamp.
Connect the speed sensor connector.
| 2. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR (except TMC Made) |
Install the front speed sensor with the bolt.
- Torque:
- 8.5 N*m{87 kgf*cm, 76 in.*lbf}
- NOTICE:
- Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
- Do not file the sensor installation hole or surface because the gap between the magnet rotor and front speed sensor is important.
Install with the clamp to the shock absorber.
Temporarily install the No. 1 sensor clamp to the shock absorber.
Install the brake flexible hose with the bolt.
- Torque:
- 29 N*m{296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf}
- NOTICE:
- Do not twist the front speed sensor wire harness during installation.
- Tighten the brake flexible hose and front speed sensor together with the bolt. Make sure that the front speed sensor is positioned over the flexible hose.
Install the No. 2 sensor clamp to the body with the bolt.
- Torque:
- 8.0 N*m{82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf}
Install the front speed sensor wire harness clamp.
Connect the speed sensor connector.
| 3. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER |
Install the front fender liner with 3 new grommets and the 3 screws.
Install the 8 clips.
Engage the 8 clips and install the side mudguard.
Install the 9 retainers.
Install the 3 screws.
Install the 2 clips.
- Torque:
- 103 N*m{1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf}

| 7. CHECK FOR SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL |
