Canister -- Removal



1. REMOVE CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY


  1. Disconnect the fuel tank vent hose from the charcoal canister assembly.

    NOTICE:
    1. Remove any dirt or foreign matter on the tube connector before performing this work.
    2. Do not allow any scratches or foreign matter to get on the parts when disconnecting them as the tube connector has an O-ring that seals the pipe.
    3. Perform this work by hand. Do not use any tools.
    4. Do not forcibly bend, twist or kink the fuel tank vent hose.
    5. Protect the disconnected part by covering it with a plastic bag after disconnecting the fuel tank vent hose.
    6. If the tube connector and pipe (charcoal canister assembly) are stuck, push and pull to release them.
    HINT:
    Do not remove the retainer.

    1. Pinch the tabs of the retainer to disengage the lock claws and pull it down as shown in the illustration.

    2. Pull out the fuel tank vent hose.

  1. Disconnect the vapor pressure sensor connector from the charcoal canister assembly.

  1. Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

  1. Disconnect the purge line hose.

  1. Disconnect the air inlet line hose from the charcoal canister assembly.

    NOTICE:

    5. Protect the disconnected part by covering it with a plastic bag after disconnecting the air inlet line hose.
    6. If the tube connector and pipe (charcoal canister assembly) are stuck, push and pull to release them.

    1. Push the air inlet line hose firmly toward the charcoal canister assembly side.

    2. Pinch the tube connector as shown in the illustration.

    3. Pull out the air inlet line hose.

  1. Disconnect the 4 hose clamps from the charcoal canister assembly.

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and charcoal canister assembly.
