Valve Body Assembly Installation

Coat the manual valve with ATF WS, and install it to the valve body.

Coat 2 new transaxle case 2nd brake gaskets with ATF WS, and install them to the transaxle case.

Install the check ball body spring and check ball body.

Align the groove of the manual valve with the pin of the manual valve lever.

Temporarily install the valve body with the 13 bolts.

Bolt length:

Bolt A:

32 mm (1.26 in.)

Bolt B:

22 mm (0.866 in.)

Bolt C:

55 mm (2.17 in.)

Bolt D:

45 mm (1.77 in.)

Temporarily install the manual detent spring and manual detent spring cover with the 2 bolts.

Bolt length:

Bolt A:

14 mm (0.551 in.)

Bolt B:

45 mm (1.77 in.)

Check that the manual valve lever comes into contact with the center of the roller at the tip of the manual detent spring.

Tighten the 15 bolts.

Torque:

11 N*m{112 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf}

Install the ATF temperature sensor with the lock plate and bolt.

Torque:

11 N*m{112 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf}

Connect the 5 shift solenoid valve connectors.

Coat a new oil strainer gasket with ATF WS and install it to the oil strainer.

Install the oil strainer with the 3 bolts.

Torque:

11 N*m{112 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf}

Install the 2 magnets to the oil pan, as shown in the illustration.

Install the oil pan and a new gasket with the 19 bolts.

Torque:

7.8 N*m{80 kgf*cm, 69 in.*lbf}

Park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.

With the engine idling and the brake pedal depressed, move the shift lever to all positions from P to L. Then return it to P.

Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean.

Push the dipstick back fully into the pipe.

Pull the dipstick out again and check that the fluid level is within the HOT range. If the fluid level is below the HOT range, add new fluid and recheck the fluid level. If the fluid level exceeds the HOT range, drain the fluid once, add a proper amount of new fluid and recheck the fluid level.
