The daytime running light relay receives the parking brake switch signal.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT RELAY - BODY GROUND)
  1. Disconnect the E91 daytime running light relay connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester connection
    Condition
    Specified condition
    E91-9 (PKB) - Body ground
    Parking brake is released
    10 kΩ or higher
    E91-9 (PKB) - Body ground
    Parking brake is applied
    Below 1 Ω


NG
Go to step 2
OK

PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000002CE20DLX.html)

2.INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the parking brake switch assembly.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester connection
    Condition
    Specified resistance
    1 - Switch body
    OFF
    (When shaft is pressed)
    10 kΩ or higher
    1 - Switch body
    ON
    (When shaft is not pressed)
    Below 1 Ω
