DTC B1635/24 Front Passenger Side Rear Airbag Sensor Malfunction


DESCRIPTION

The rear airbag sensor (passenger side) consists of the diagnostic circuit, the lateral deceleration sensor, etc.
If the center airbag sensor assembly receives signals from the lateral deceleration sensor, it determines whether the SRS should be activated.
DTC B1635/24 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the front passenger side rear airbag sensor circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK DTC


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Supplemental Restraint System.Airbag System. Dtc B1635/24 Front Passenger Side Rear Airbag Sensor Malfunction

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XFE014X.html).

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Check the DTCs (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XFE014X.html).

    OK:
    DTC B1635/24 is not output.
    HINT:
    Codes other than DTC B1635/24 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

2.CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR (PASSENGER SIDE)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Supplemental Restraint System.Airbag System. Dtc B1635/24 Front Passenger Side Rear Airbag Sensor Malfunction

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

  1. Interchange the rear airbag sensor (driver side) with rear airbag sensor (passenger side) and connect the connectors to them.

  1. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XFE014X.html).

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Check the DTCs (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XFE014X.html).

3.CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Supplemental Restraint System.Airbag System. Dtc B1635/24 Front Passenger Side Rear Airbag Sensor Malfunction

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

  1. Return the rear airbag sensor (driver side) and rear airbag sensor (passenger side) to their original positions and connect the connectors to them.

  1. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XFE014X.html).

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Check the DTCs (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XFE014X.html).

    OK:
    DTC B1635/24 is not output.
    HINT:
    Codes other than DTC B1635/24 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.
