Oil Pump -- Disassembly |
1. INSPECT FRONT OIL PUMP AND GEAR BODY SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Turn the drive gear with 2 screwdrivers and make sure that it rotates smoothly.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the oil seal lip.

2. REMOVE STATOR SHAFT ASSEMBLY |
Using a "TORX" wrench (T30), remove the 16 bolts and stator shaft assembly from the oil pump body.
- NOTICE:
- Keep the gears in the order of installation.

3. INSPECT CLEARANCE OF FRONT OIL PUMP AND GEAR BODY SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Push the driven gear to one side of the body.

Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance.
- Standard clearance:
- 0.08 to 0.15 mm (0.0031 to 0.0059 in.)
- Maximum clearance:
- 0.15 mm (0.0059 in.)
Using a straight edge and feeler gauge, measure the side clearance of both gears.
- Standard side clearance:
- 0.025 to 0.04 mm (0.0010 to 0.0016 in.)
- Maximum side clearance:
- 0.04 mm (0.0016 in.)
Drive gear thickness: Mark Thickness - 11.547 to 11.555 mm (0.4546 to 0.4549 in.) - 11.555 to 11.563 mm (0.4549 to 0.4552 in.) - 11.564 to 11.571 mm (0.4553 to 0.4556 in.) - 11.572 to 11.579 mm (0.4556 to 0.4559 in.) - 11.580 to 11.587 mm (0.4559 to 0.4562 in.) Driven gear thickness: Mark Thickness - 11.547 to 11.555 mm (0.4546 to 0.4549 in.) - 11.555 to 11.563 mm (0.4549 to 0.4552 in.) - 11.564 to 11.571 mm (0.4553 to 0.4556 in.) - 11.572 to 11.579 mm (0.4556 to 0.4559 in.) - 11.580 to 11.587 mm (0.4559 to 0.4562 in.)

4. REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP BODY O-RING |
Remove the O-ring from the oil pump body.

5. REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR |
Remove the front oil pump drive gear from the oil pump body.

6. REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP DRIVEN GEAR |
Remove the front oil pump driven gear from the oil pump body.

7. REMOVE FRONT OIL PUMP OIL SEAL |
Mount the oil pump in a soft jaw vise.

Using SST, remove the oil seal from the oil pump body.
