VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM - Slip Indicator Light does not Come ON


DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU is connected to the combination meter via CAN communication.
If the skid control ECU stores a DTC, the SLIP indicator light will come on in the combination meter.
The SLIP indicator light blinks during VSC and/or TRC operation.
When the system fails, the SLIP indicator light comes on to warn the driver (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XHP04YX.html).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XHR03AX.html).
1.CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

  1. Check if the CAN communication system DTC is output (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000WIB05NX.html for LHD, or CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000WIB05SX.html for RHD).

    Result:

2.CHECK SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Start the engine.

  1. Select "Slip Indicator Lamp" in the Active Test and operate the SLIP indicator light using the intelligent tester.

    ABS / VSC / TRC:

    		Turn SLIP indicator light ON / OFF
    		Observe combination meter

  1. Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the SLIP indicator light are indicated on the combination meter when using the intelligent tester.

    OK:
    The SLIP indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the intelligent tester.
    HINT:
    If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XHN04RX.html).

3.INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Perform Active Test of the combination meter (meter CPU) using the intelligent tester (CAMRY_ACV40 RM0000012G700LX.html).

    OK:
    The SLIP indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the intelligent tester.
    HINT:
    If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XHN04RX.html).
