  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER

  3. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB

  6. REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY

  9. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD

  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT (for LH Side)

  12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT (for RH Side)

  13. REMOVE FRONT SEPARATE TYPE SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY

  14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

Front Seat Side Airbag Assembly (For Power Seat) -- Removal


CAUTION:
  1. Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000KT1054X.html).
  2. If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat assembly with a new one.


1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY


2. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER

  1. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the position farthest forward.

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the seat track cover.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


3. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the inner seat track bracket cover.



4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

  1. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the rearmost position.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts on the front seat track bracket.

  1. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the position farthest forward.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear seat track bracket.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    CAUTION:
    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent the airbag and seat belt pretensioner from deploying (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000KT1054X.html).

  1. Disconnect the connectors under the seat. Then remove the front seat assembly.



5. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the reclining power seat switch knob.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


6. REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD ASSEMBLY


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Disconnect the 2 hooks.

  1. Remove the 5 screws.

  1. Disengage the claw and separate the front seat cushion shield assembly.

  1. Disconnect the connector from the front power seat lumbar switch.



8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY

  1. for Driver seat:

    1. Disconnect the connectors and disengage the 4 clamps.

  1. for Passenger seat:

    1. Disconnect the connector and disengage the 3 clamps.

  1. Remove the nut and front seat inner belt assembly.



9. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Remove the screw.

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the clip.

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the front inner seat cushion shield.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Supplemental Restraint System.Airbag System.Front Seat Side Airbag Assembly (For Power Seat) Removal

  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Disconnect the 14 clamps and front separate type seatback cover.

  1. Pull the seatback board in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 2 claws. Then, remove the seatback board.



11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT (for LH Side)

  1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the headrest support.



12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT (for RH Side)


13. REMOVE FRONT SEPARATE TYPE SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Supplemental Restraint System.Airbag System.Front Seat Side Airbag Assembly (For Power Seat) Removal

  1. Remove the 2 hog rings and 3 hooks.



    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Remove the nut and 2 seatback cover brackets.

  1. Remove the front separate type seatback cover with pad.



14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Supplemental Restraint System.Airbag System.Front Seat Side Airbag Assembly (For Power Seat) Removal

  1. Disconnect the 4 wire harness clamps from under the seat.



    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Supplemental Restraint System.Airbag System.Front Seat Side Airbag Assembly (For Power Seat) Removal

  1. Disconnect the 2 clamps.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat side airbag assembly.

    CAUTION:
    1. The nuts must not be reused.
    2. Make sure that the seat frame assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
