Front Airbag Sensor Installation

Restraints. Camry. Acv40 Gsv40
Supplemental Restraint System. Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. INSTALL FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR

  2. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

  3. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

  4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  5. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT

Front Airbag Sensor -- Installation



1. INSTALL FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR

  1. Check that the ignition switch is off.

  1. Check that the battery negative (-) cable is disconnected.

    CAUTION:
    Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

  1. Install the front airbag sensor with the bolt.

    Torque:
    17.5 N*m{179 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf}
    NOTICE:
    1. If the front airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
    2. When installing the front airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.

  1. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the front airbag sensor.

  1. Connect the connector.



2. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER LH


3. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH


4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


5. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT

  1. Inspect the SRS warning light (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XFD0BDX.html).
