  5. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER LH (for Manual Seat)

  7. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for Manual Seat)

Seat Position Sensor -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedures for the RHD driver side and LHD driver side.
  2. The procedures listed below are for LHD driver side.


1. PRECAUTION
CAUTION:
Be sure to read "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000KT1016X.html).


2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (for Manual Seat)
NOTICE:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.


3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat)


4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat)


5. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER LH (for Manual Seat)

  1. Move the front seat assembly fully forward by operating the slide handle.

  1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the seat track cover.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


6. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER LH (for Power Seat)

  1. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the position farthest forward.

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the seat track cover.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


7. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for Manual Seat)

  1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the inner seat track bracket cover.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


8. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for Power Seat)

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the inner seat track bracket cover.



9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for Manual Seat)

  1. Move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position by operating the slide handle.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts on the front seat track bracket.

  1. Move the front seat assembly fully forward by operating the slide handle.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear seat track bracket.

  1. Move the front seat assembly to the center position and adjust the seatback to the vertical position by operating the slide and reclining adjuster release handle.

  1. Disconnect the connectors and clamp.

  1. Remove the front seat assembly.



10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for Power Seat)

  1. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the rearmost position.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts on the front seat track bracket.

  1. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the position farthest forward.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear seat track bracket.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    CAUTION:
    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent the airbag and seat belt pretensioner from deploying (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000KT1016X.html).

  1. Disconnect the connectors under the seat. Then remove the front seat assembly.



11. REMOVE VERTICAL ADJUSTER COVER (for Manual Seat)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the vertical adjuster cover LH.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


12. REMOVE NO. 2 VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE (for Manual Seat)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Remove the 2 screws and vertical adjusting handle.



13. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE (for Manual Seat)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Lift the reclining adjuster release handle.

  1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD (for Manual Seat)

  1. Disengage the 2 hooks.



    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Remove the 3 screws.

  1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat cushion shield.



15. REMOVE SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Manual Seat)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Using a "TORX" socket (T30), remove the "TORX" screw and seat position sensor with the seat slide position sensor protector.

  1. Remove the seat position sensor from the seat slide position sensor protector as shown in the illustration.



16. REMOVE SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Power Seat)

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Using a "TORX" socket (T30), remove the "TORX" screw and seat position sensor with the seat slide position sensor protector.

  1. Remove the seat position sensor from the seat slide position sensor protector as shown in the illustration.
