Description
HINT:
Whether the abnormality occurs in the DPNR catalyst thermal deterioration history data or in the injector compensation code can be determined by checking the Data List.

- The DPNR catalyst thermal deterioration history data in the ECM is still the initial value (1 trip detection logic)
- The DPNR catalyst thermal deterioration history data is not recorded correctly in the ECM (2 trip detection logic)

Inspection procedure
NOTICE:
After replacing the ECM, the new ECM needs registration and initialization.

Confirm if DTC P1601 was output because a new ECM was installed.

Using the intelligent tester, read the injector compensation code.
5.REPLACE ECM AND EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Replace the ECM.

Replace the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.
6.REGISTER INJECTOR COMPENSATION CODE |
-
Input the injector compensation code read with the intelligent tester.
-
Clear the catalyst record of DPNR thermal deterioration.
8.READ CATALYST RECORD OF DPNR THERMAL DETERIORATION |
-
Read the catalyst record of DPNR thermal deterioration.
-
Replace the ECM.
10.SET CATALYST RECORD OF DPNR THERMAL DETERIORATION |
-
Set the catalyst record of DPNR thermal deterioration.
11.REGISTER INJECTOR COMPENSATION CODE |
-
Input the injector compensation code written on the injector.
12.REPLACE ECM AND EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Replace the ECM.

Replace the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.
13.REGISTER INJECTOR COMPENSATION CODE |

Input the injector compensation code written on the injector.

Clear the catalyst record of DPNR thermal deterioration.

Check if DTC P1601 was output in the original ECM.
19.CHECK CATALYST RECORD OF DPNR THERMAL DETERIORATION |
-
Read the catalyst record of DPNR thermal deterioration from old ECM.
-
Set the catalyst record of DPNR thermal deterioration to new ECM.
-
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
-
Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.
-
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.

Read the DTCs.

Input the injector compensation codes.
HINT:
- If DTC P1601 was output in the previously installed ECM, input the injector code written on the injector in the new ECM.
- If DTC P1601 was not output in the previously installed ECM, input the injector code registered in the previously installed ECM to the new ECM.

Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.

Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.

Read the DTCs.
