DESCRIPTION

The engine hood courtesy switch is built into the hood lock. This switch turns on when the engine hood is opened and turns off when the engine hood is closed.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH)

Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.

Turn the intelligent tester on.

Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Data List.

Read the Data List according to the display on the intelligent tester.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - HOOD LOCK AND BODY GROUND)

Disconnect the E30 main body ECU connector.

Disconnect the E1 hood courtesy switch connector.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  • Standard Resistance:
