DTC P0013 Camshaft Position "B" Actuator Circuit / Open (Bank 1)
DTC P0023 Camshaft Position "B" Actuator Circuit / Open (Bank 2)
DESCRIPTION
DTC No. | DTC Detection Condition | Trouble Area |
P0013 | Open or short in the camshaft timing oil control valve for exhaust side (for Bank 1) circuit (1 trip detection logic). | Open or short in camshaft timing oil control valve for exhaust side (for Bank 1) circuit Camshaft timing oil control valve assembly for exhaust side (for Bank 1) ECM |
P0023 | Open or short in the camshaft timing oil control valve for exhaust side (for Bank 2) circuit (1 trip detection logic). | Open or short in camshaft timing oil control valve for exhaust side (for Bank 2) circuit Camshaft timing oil control valve assembly for exhaust side (for Bank 2) ECM |
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
These DTCs are designed to detect opens or shorts in the camshaft timing oil control valve circuit. If the camshaft timing oil control valve duty cycle is excessively high or low while the engine is running, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store the DTC.
The monitor for this DTC runs 5 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- HINT:
*: The No. 1 cylinder is the cylinder which is farthest from the transmission.
1.CHECK FOR DTC (DTC P0013 OR P0023) |
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Clear the DTCs after recording the freeze frame data and DTCs.
Turn the engine switch off.
Start the engine and allow it to idle. Then check for DTCs.
Check that P0013 or P0023 is not output.
- OK:
- P0013 or P0023 is not output.
