INSPECTION PROCEDURE

 

1.INSPECT VRV FOR TURBOCHARGER CONTROL


 

ECD SYSTEM  2AD-FHV P0045    Turbocharger / Supercharger Boost Control Solenoid Circuit / Open  TOYOTA RAV4 / ACA30, 33, 38 ALA30
  1. Disconnect the B44 VRV connector.

  1. Measure the resistance of the VRV.

     

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    B44-1 - B44-2 20°C (68°F) 11.1 to 12.5 Ω

     

     

  1. Reconnect the VRV connector.

 

  NG
REPLACE VRV FOR TURBOCHARGER CONTROL
 
OK  
 

 

2.INSPECT VRV FOR TURBOCHARGER CONTROL (TERMINAL 1 VOLTAGE)

  1. Disconnect the B44 VRV connector.

  1. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

  1. Measure the voltage of the VRV connector.

     

    Standard voltage:
    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    B44-1 - Body ground 9 to 14 V

     

     

  1. Reconnect the VRV connector.

 

  NG
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (VRV - EFI MAIN RELAY)
 
OK  
 

 

3.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (VRV - ECM)

  1. Disconnect the B44 VRV connector.

  1. Disconnect the B32 ECM connector.

  1. Measure the resistance of the wire harness connector.

     

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    B44-2 - B32-84 (VN) Below 1 Ω
    B44-2 or B32-84 (VN) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

     

     

  1. Reconnect the VRV connector.

  1. Reconnect the ECM connector.

 

  NG
REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
 
OK  
 
REPLACE ECM
