Power is supplied to the radio receiver and steering pad switch illumination when the light control switch is in the tail or head position.

This circuit sends an operation signal from the steering pad switch to the radio receiver.

If there is a short in the circuit, the resulting condition is the same as if the switch were continuously depressed.

Operate the radio receiver to adjust the sound quality.

Turn on the light control switch and check the nighttime illumination of the vehicle interior.

Check for any foreign objects.

Replace the cassette tape with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again.

Perform the auto-search of the radio and check that it functions normally.

If the disc is dirty, clean the disc by wiping the CD underside radially with a soft cloth.

Make sure that the CD is a normal audio CD, and that it is not deformed, flawed, stained, burred or otherwise defective.

Press the CD eject switch of the radio receiver for 2 seconds or more and check that the CD ejects.
