  1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT

  5. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

  9. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

  10. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

  11. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

  13. REMOVE NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

  14. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX

  16. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER CONTROL ASSEMBLY (for Manual Air Conditioning System)

  17. REMOVE SWITCH BASE

  18. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE

  19. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

Lower Instrument Panel -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
  2. The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT


  1. All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with an alphabetical code in the table.

2. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Toyota Fortuner RM000000UYX010X.html).


3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
CAUTION:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Toyota Fortuner RM000004W63000X.html).


4. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

5. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

6. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

  1. Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate.

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 7 claws and 3 clips and remove the front door scuff plate.



8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.


9. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

  1. Remove the part of the front door opening trim attached to the cowl side trim board.

  1. Remove the clip.

  1. Detach the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim board.



10. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.


11. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

  1. Remove the 3 clips and No. 2 heater to register duct.



12. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

  1. Remove the clip.

  1. Detach the 3 claws and remove the No. 1 heater to register duct.



13. REMOVE NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

  1. Remove the clip.

  1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the No. 3 heater to register duct.



14. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Detach the 2 claws, 3 clips and 3 guides and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel.



15. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX

  1. Remove the 6 screws <A>.

  1. Disconnect the connectors, detach the clamp and remove the No. 1 instrument panel box.



16. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER CONTROL ASSEMBLY (for Manual Air Conditioning System)
  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the air conditioning control assembly.



17. REMOVE SWITCH BASE


Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
  1. Detach the 9 claws and guide.

    HINT:
    If the claws are difficult to detach, detach the claws from the back of the switch base.
  1. Disconnect the connectors and remove the switch base.



18. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE

  1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 switch hole base.

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 5 claws.

  1. Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 1 switch hole base.



19. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


  1. for LHD:

    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips <B>.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts <C>, nut <D> and 3 screws <E>.

    3. Disconnect the hood lock control cable, fuel lid lock control cable and DLC3.

    4. Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps.



    5. Detach the 2 guides and remove the lower instrument panel.

  1. for RHD:

    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips <B>.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts <C>, nut <D> and 3 screws <E>.

    3. Disconnect the hood lock control cable, fuel lid lock control cable and DLC3.

    4. Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps.



    5. Detach the 2 guides and remove the lower instrument panel.
