Lighting System -- Operation Check

AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Automatic Light Control System)
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  2. Turn the headlight dimmer switch to the AUTO position.

  3. Cover the automatic light control sensor.

  4. Check that the taillights and low beam headlights come on.

  5. Uncover the automatic light control sensor.

  6. Check that the headlights and taillights turn off.

LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Automatic Light Control System)
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  2. Turn the headlight dimmer switch to the AUTO position.

  3. Cover the automatic light control sensor.

  4. Check that the taillights and low beam headlights come on.

  5. The ignition switch is off and the driver door is open.

  6. Check that the headlights and taillights turn off.

HID HEADLIGHT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (for HID Headlight)
  1. Perform the following illumination diagnosis when both of the following conditions are met: 1) the headlight light control ECU is not visibly damaged, and 2) the headlight light control ECU has been struck but is operating normally. If all of the following diagnosis results are normal, the headlight light control ECU can be reused.

    1. Perform low beam headlight cold starts (10 minutes or more off, then turned on) and hot starts (15 minutes or more on, 1 minute off, then turned on again) several times. Check that the low beam headlights illuminate normally.

    2. For 5 minutes immediately after performing a headlight cold start as described above, visually check the illumination condition and check that the lights do not flicker or show signs of instability.

    3. Install bulbs that have approximately the same usage time, and illuminate the low beam headlights for approximately 30 seconds. Check that the brightness of the left and right bulbs is approximately the same, and that the illumination is stable.

AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHT BEAM LEVEL CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (for HID Headlight)
  1. Check that the initialization (determination of the initial position) of the headlight leveling motor (headlight unit) is performed when the ignition switch is turned to ON.

  2. Check that the headlight beam level control system warning light in the combination meter assembly comes on for approximately 3 seconds when the ignition switch is turned to ON, and then turns off.

  3. Check that the headlight moves when all of the following conditions are met: 1) the rear of the vehicle is moved up or down, 2) the engine is running, 3) the vehicle is stopped, and 4) the light control switch is in the head position.

    NOTICE:
Make sure to change the vehicle height slowly.
