Brake Master Cylinder (W/ Vsc) -- Removal |
- NOTICE:
- Make sure to release the vacuum from the brake booster before removing the master cylinder from the brake booster.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery to disable the SRS system.
- NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Toyota Fortuner RM000004W63000X.html).
2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID |
- NOTICE:
- Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.
3. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY |

for Manual Transmission:
Disconnect the clutch reservoir hose from the master cylinder reservoir.
Disconnect the brake fluid level warning switch connector.
Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 4 brake lines from the master cylinder and brake tube way.
Remove the 2 nuts and brake tube way.

Pull out the master cylinder from the brake booster.
Remove the O-ring from the master cylinder.
