Brake Master Cylinder (W/ Vsc) Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

  3. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

Brake Master Cylinder (W/ Vsc) -- Removal


NOTICE:
Make sure to release the vacuum from the brake booster before removing the master cylinder from the brake booster.


1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Toyota Fortuner RM000004W63000X.html).


2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE:
Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.


3. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY


Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50
  1. for Manual Transmission:
    Disconnect the clutch reservoir hose from the master cylinder reservoir.

  1. Disconnect the brake fluid level warning switch connector.

  1. Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 4 brake lines from the master cylinder and brake tube way.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and brake tube way.

  1. Pull out the master cylinder from the brake booster.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the master cylinder.
